Descendents foi formado em 1978 em Manhantan Beach-CA, um suburbio em Los Angeles. Surgiu quando os colegas de classe Frank Navetta, Tom Lombardo e Bill Stevenson resolveram criar uma banda. Em 1980 eles adicionaram um velho colega de escola chamado Milo Auckerman como cantor e se tornaram uma das maiores bandas da cena punk/skate punk de Los Angeles, na época.

Transplants - Transplants [2002]

Pra quem não conhece, o Transplants é uma banda formada por Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Skinhead Rob (Expensive Taste e amigo dos caras do Rancid) e Travis Barker ( Blink 182).

Transplants foi o álbum de estréia deles e logo as musicas D.J.D.J. e Diamonds And Guns já eram aclamadas pela MTV estrangeira.

A banda faz um som que mistura o Punk Rock com elementos do Hip-Hop, num estilo inconfundível e acompanhado pela voz fudida do Tim Armstrong.

Uma curiosidade é que a banda ao vivo não é composta apenas pelos três membros, Matt Freeman do Rancid, Craig Fairbaugh do Lars and The Bastards e +44, Dave Carlock e DJ Pone completam a banda nas apresentações, então sem mais delongas, com vocês, Transplants.

Timothy Lockwood Armstrong, frontman de uma das maiores bandas da cena ska punk do mundo e como vocal de Transplants em um trabalho paralelo tem com "A Poets Life" seu primeiro trabalho solo.

O disco tem forte influência do ska e do reggae jamaicano. Um sentimento pessoal toda vez que eu escudo esse cd "que brisa!", perfeito pra curtir na praia ou em alguma festa.

Vale a pena conferir.
